For those that don't want to slug their way thru the whole converstion I had with Dr. Levitsky I think that I can summarize two major conclusions that he explains:
1. That the cassette does indeed activate a memory response and that the CD54 upregulation is really measuring the ICAM-1 on dendritic cells in the apheresis bag that is being upregulated by the long lived PAP specific T helper cells that the vaccine has generated in the patient. Remember, dendritic cells are short lived while helper T cells are long lived.
2. That the antigen delivery cassette is really two immunotherapy techniques in one. It is an active specific immunotherapy and it is an adoptive T cell therapy. Even Steven Rosenberg has endorsed this technique although he didn't recognize that the antigen delivery cassette of Dendreon is in fact these two combined.
