Re: Deep Sea Sends 3 PSV's to Eygypt --- BP's Atoll phase 1?Appears the DSS 3 OSV's are to be shared on the two BP EGYPT projects Saipem and Deep Sea Supply secure Egyptian contracts Fri 22 Jul 2016 Deepwater pipelayer Castorone will be used on the Zohr project in Egypt in 2017 Saipem was the winner of Eni’s tender for subsea construction services for the giant Zohr gas field off the Egyptian coast in the Mediterranean. It won the contract to provide engineering, procurement, construction and installation services for the Egyptian project as part of a series of orders that have a combined value of €1.5 billion, the vast majority being Zohr. The contract was awarded by Petrobel, which is a joint venture between Eni and Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation. Saipem will be in charge of installing a 26in gas export trunkline as well as 14in and 8in service trunklines. It will also be installing subsea systems on six wells and the control umbilicals in water depths of up to 1,700m. All this will be conducted between August this year and the end of 2017. Saipem will mobilise a fleet of vessels to carry out offshore operations, including deepwater pipelayer Castorone, semi-submersible pipelayer Castoro Sei, trenching/pipelay barge Castoro 10 and other specialised vessels. It will need a fleet of anchor handlers and pipe supply vessels to support these, as well as drillship Saipem 10000. http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:369108/mmsi:308728000/vessel:SAIPEM 10000 The Italian company was not the only winner in Egypt. Deep Sea Supply (DSS) secured three charter contracts to support BP Egypt’s operations. The three 4,007gt platform supply vessels (PSVs) were expected to commence operations during the third quarter of this year. BP has chartered 2014-built Sea Swift for two years, with an option to extend this for another year. It has hired 2014-built PSV Sea Spear and 2012-built PSV Sea Spark for one year plus 12 months of options. Brokers said BP Egypt had also chartered 2014-built, 3,927gt PSV Campos Tide from Tidewater to support drilling work for two years, with an additional optional year. BP is involved in two deepwater projects offshore Egypt. One includes a number of gas field developments in the West Nile Delta (WND) concession. These hold around 5 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas resources and 55 million barrels of condensates. Production is expected to start from these fields in 2017. BP said capital investment in WND could exceed US$13 billion. The other major project will involve development of the Atoll discovery in the North Damietta Offshore concession. Around 1.5 tcf and 31 million barrels of condensates will be produced from the field. BP hopes to establish a new material offshore hub in the East Nile Delta with this project. It started drilling development wells on Atoll in a two-year campaign in August. Success in this early production project could lead to further investment in a larger second phase. seems not underway yet > SEA SWIFT still @ anchor in Peraeus GR no indication why the delay http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:145192/mmsi:212445000/vessel:SEA SWIFT appears SEA SPEAR working with Maersk Discoverer for BP > currently are .5 NM apart http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/mmsi:565052000/shipid:729579/vessel:MAERSK DISCOVERER http://www.maerskdrilling.com/en/media-center/press-release-archive/2015/11/discoverer-takes-the-lead-in-egypt http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:125697/mmsi:210811000/vessel:SEA SPEAR Sea Spark is 28 nm from Sea Spear working with with ENSCO DS6 http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:714742/mmsi:538005765/vessel:SEA SPARK ENSCO DS6 database > as " ENS" http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:713294/imo:9535929/mmsi:538004083/vessel:ENSCO DS-6 In Tunisia, Numhyd has restarted offshore drilling work using a Grup Servicii Petroliere (GSP) jack-up rig. Numhyd is a joint venture between Algeria’s Sonatrach and Tunisia’s ETAP. GSP Jupiter was mobilised from Limassol, Cyprus, where it was prepared for the drilling programme. It is expected to drill one well, and probably a second well, for Numhyd offshore Tunisia. This follows a four-year hiatus of drilling on Numhyd’s concession. GSP operates a fleet of rigs and offshore support vessels. In addition, Shell affiliate BG has chartered 75-tonne bollard pull anchor handler Sarost 5 for two years to support its offshore projects in Tunisia. In another project, Eni has begun an exploration campaign offshore Portugal. It is using the drillship Saipem 12000 along with Vroon Offshore’s PSVs VOS Prince and VOS Prudence.
