Plunder Blunder in NicelandFrom an Iceland Weather Report [you can't make stuff like that up]: DID THOSE FOOLISH NICELANDERS DECIDE TO KISS OFF THEIR PRECIOUS GEOTHERMAL RESOURCES ON THE BARREN PENINSULA OF REYKJANES FOR THE NEXT 130 YEARS OR DID THEY NOT? Well, the decision is still pending. Sorry, weatherman. The summer thaw and global warming, not to mention a broken government and economy, led to the blundering plundering of Iceland's warmth. Been a while since Eric the Red plundered North America from Iceland but it is only fair to return the favor. Eric the Red was defeated by superior technology. Those dang Indians hid behind trees and bushes and threw pointed sticks into the Vikings instead of standing up like men to be slaughtered. Now the Icelanders have the technology. It is not so clear to me the reverse invasion will be successful against the hostiles in Iceland. Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up. You don't speak with forked tongue, weatherman. Meanwhile, one of the stories we’re being fed by those all gung-ho on
selling is that Magma Energy has already swung similar deals elsewhere
in the world, so we’re just being incredibly childish and petulant over
here. Ah, but Fréttablaðið reports that Magma got far worse deals in
Oregon and Nevada, for instance, than the ludicrous deal they’re hoping
to swing here in Iceland. I hope for Magma Energy's sake the natives are less hostile in Peru and other lands. Despite what the weatherman reports, Magma Energy will still hold a minority interest of about 48% in the enterprise if it puts up considerably more loot. May not be such a hot deal [if you will pardon the expression] after all. Fascinating though. Best, Terry |
