Re: CTE/t-Tau Presented at AAN Annual Meeting by Stern's group
Great find. The note I find most telling in the detailed article: "Plasma exosomal tau has recently been proposed as a biomarker for CTE [18],but the techniques for isolation of brain-derived exosomes in blood are technically challenging and can lead to signifi-cant variability in the quality (e.g., purity, efficiency) of the extracted exosome [19]. Plasma tau is a more appealing op-tion to the clinician and clinical researcher."
So do some people in Stern's lab not trust TauSome exosome harvesting technologies? On the other hand, if the TauSome process is/becomes easily repeatable, it is the only exosome-based approach out there.
