Not arguing with numbers but disagreeing with the description of older cars being retired.
I've never been to China but in Eastern Europe almost nobody replaces their cars every three years. I am not talking about few chosen ones but about the mass consumers.
Most cars are repaired to the point that you and I would not consider it repairable but they are still being repaired, and they stay on the road, maybe more on the rural roads. Some of those cars are more than 20 years old.
With second-hand western-made cars of higher quality being dumped into Eastern Europe, those cars stay on the road even longer.
