Re: WSR comment
I'm quite aware of what's been going on in the great state of Texas I was CEO of what was then a branch of a S&P500 corp. in both Houston & then Dallas (I'm talking during the 80's). We had branches going from Dallas out to El Paso & back to Houston with 45 or 48 (I've forgotten) outlets in Texas. Saw lots of them even little Lake Jackson which had a flourishing Vietnamese population). The same is true in many other states to a lesser degree such as the metro Atlanta area.
IMO, if we had more Asians in this country, we'd be better off. Most of them work hard, have strong family units & their kids go on to college & flourish. We have a tiny Chinese restaurant on the barrier island we live on. The mother takes the orders, her husband & older son do the cooking & it's common to see her baby in a carriage behind the counter. They work hard & pay their taxes. I fully suspect that at least one of her kids will go on to some top college & become a physicist or something similar.
