Just realized how deep my son was locked inside the iPhone ecosystem
My son has been using iPhone since 4S (about 3 and half years ago). He has been using iPhone 6 for the past two years, but it lost cell reception last week and it was diagnosed as hardware problem. In other words, we have to replace it. I suggested latest Android phone. He said Absolutely Not, because he was so used to iPhone and all his online social life depended on it. So I bought him an iPhone 6S. He backed up everything from the old 6 to the iTune on our Thinkpad laptop (which was very smooth), then restored everything onto the new 6S, the whole process lasted about an hour, nothing was missed, he was very happy afterwards. He is completely locked inside the iPhone ecosystem. Unless there is a revolutionary change in online communication or Apple completely screws up the product, he will stay in there no matter what.
