Re: Apple Watch demand is looking worse than expectedPerhaps people have realised that $600 is a lot just so you don't have to take your phone out of your pocket. This is the type of uninformed statement that people made about the iPhone. The Apple watch is not a watch… it is a very small minicomputer sitting on your wrist . It does have limited communications capabilities in that it needs a wireless network or bluetooth to communicate with the outside world. However you would be amazed at how often a watch can find these. It doesn't just provide access to the iPhone, as the statement above indicates. It makes payments without your wallet. It keeps track of your body's movements so it incentivises people to live better physical lives It does provide notifications in a much more elegant way than the iPhone. It is one of the most accurate time pieces on the planet (Less than 50 picoseconds from perfection) [maybe that's microseconds, I forget] The next generation version of the Watch OS allows native apps to run on the watch, so there is no telling what can appear there. Saying the Apple watch is just a substitute for taking an iPhone out of a pocket is a gratingly nieve statement. |
