IMO anyone with the technical resources may duplicate this capability although it is pretty cutting edge stuff. The advantage as I see it is at scale. The larger the network the less overall cost. The smaller players will offer software based network security but the large Enterprise folks will be looking for coverage. '''krusty
there was a report (fortune?) about a year ago stating that 70% of the worlds packets hit lvlt's network at some point. lvlt used that info to then "scrub" the data and look for anomalies to protect the clients networks.
I bring this up because i cant think of another network where you would get a look at 70% of the packets. for security this would seem to be a huge advantage if examining massive amounts of data is the answer. if it is not, then lvlt would not have an edge due to its size
i think storeys "1" obsession plays into this. just a happy thought
