Vyve Broadband's Monkey Island deployment no secret as provider expands in Oklahoma - 1GigVyve Broadband's Monkey Island deployment no secret as provider expands in Oklahoma February 9, 2016 Vyve Broadband, a service provider focused on serving Tier 2 and 3 markets, is bringing 1 Gbps services to customers in northeast Oklahoma, where broadband choices are few and far between. Set to be available in the first quarter, the provider will roll out its Vyve Gig service to customers in Ketchum and Monkey Island, Okla. While it recognizes that 1 Gbps is more bandwidth than most users need, the company said that it wants to be prepared to deliver what could be the "norm tomorrow." Offering higher speeds to rural customers has been a key focus for Vyve. Since the company was launched in late 2013, the service provider said it has more than doubled the average speed for existing customers. Besides the 1 Gbps offering, Vyve offers three other tiers: 25 Mbps, 50 Mbps and 105 Mbps. It said that the 105 Mbps service is available in the majority of the markets it serves and that it meets FCC benchmark speed of 25 Mbps to more than 70 percent of its market. Vyve Broadband currently delivers service in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Wyoming, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Georgia over assets it purchased in 2013. |
