Unions in Brazil is a norm for all fields and they're extremely organized and usually connected with this current government.

PBR, VALE, Correios, Banks, Teachers, you name it... it is all a big deal. Also, the labor laws in Brazil are extremely skewed towards the workers... it is nearly impossible to an employer to fire someone without huge fees.

I wish they change all that crap laws... but I am holding my breath....
