Re: mo pm volumeTo me, MO is just a pure "buy and hold" investment. Beta of MO is 0.6. . .that's well below the market norm, and in 'boring' territory. I never trade this stock; last time I bought shares was 2013. I also almost never speculate with MO derivatives, either. As it happens, I'm playing with a few now, but that's basically because I intend shortly to replace my few RAI shares with MO ones, and I'm using these as a way to try and "cushion" the bid/ask spreads a bit. Anyway, unless you're trying to flip shares quickly or play with options, I don't see why this week's trading volume matters. Much of that could have to do with factors completely unrelated to MO (ie sector rotation, etc). As far as I am concerned, that stuff is basically just noise. What I care about, mostly, is earnings consistency. Dividends flow directly out of that, and pretty much everything else is noise. As it happens IQOS is probably the single most interesting thing that may be happening to MO since it split off PM. I think its supposed to be 2018 before actual IQOS product can hit the US marketplace, but that will be interesting to see. So I bought my last shares in MO in 2013, for what its worth. . .stock has more than doubled since then, plus paid dividends. So to These are solid blue chips in solid established industries. The stocks are relatively non-volatile. MO, in particular has a beta of 0.6. That's pretty darn "boring". If you're a speculative trader, I think there are better stocks to play. PErsonMO is just not the type of stock where I care what volume |
