There are a couple of certainties here:

1. Reuters has the proverbial erection for CHK and AM. and

2. They have a very good and well connected source who probably also has the proverbial erection for AM. The erection list is likely quite long but the one with the connections far smaller.

Beyond that, this latest flap seems much ado about nothing. Proving intent beyond explorations of a possible JV while discussing the options of such a relationship is going to be damn tough. That said, it is clear that whomever is out to nail AM ain't going away soon. Shareholders will be best served if AM goes first.
