Get ready for a wave of M&A in 2017?https://finance.yahoo.com/news/get-ready-for-a-wave-of-ma-deals-in-2017-171201595.html I think I know what end of the deals I want to be on. I'm approaching the end of my limits here. Surely RMBS could sell QCOM or Samsung, or Apple or Google on the intrinsic vale of Rambus' cash component. (Take away most of the overhead and it's a nice annuity). Then, after paring "overhead" management, marketing, and support staff to the technical bare bone, I would think the technology could be pushed to one of the players that maintains a position which has a component of patent licensing or trading with other comanies. I would suppose that a deal could be made in the $20-$30/share range. Let's say $25.....and everybody "goes to the house" happy....or at least as happy as can be expected.....with many of having learned an expensive, and long, long lesson in futility. RMBS wasn't able to protect its key intellectual property. RMBS hasn't been able to grow value organically. It hasn't been able to grow value through M&A (acquisitions) within any reasonable time horizon. Unless the company can start to offer some transparency and some possibility of predictable growth (bottom line), then the only remaining strategy may be to try to flip what it has....if only it can inspire some competition among players in bidding for the company - lock, stock, and barrel. Is anyone interested? |
