Re: New Bell ID Video?Interesting Video twobyte, I had not seen that.
I think it is worth noting that video came out several months before the Rambus acquisition was announced.
Given that promotional video was uploaded by Bell ID on Sep 1, 2015 and then the HCE certification news came out about a month later, that makes me wonder how long the acquisition discussions had been taking place between Rambus and Bell ID?
Bell ID gets HCE certification from global payment schemes PARTNER NEWS: Mobile payments specialist Bell ID’s host card emulation (HCE) solution has been certified by three of the largest global payment schemes, the company has announced, making it the first vendor to receive approval from all three schemes for its HCE platform.
The payment schemes involved are understood to be Visa, MasterCard and American Express, though the company has told NFC World that commercial agreements prevent it from disclosing any names at this time.
So why does Bell ID eventually conclude that it was beneficial to be acquired by Rambus? While that video is very positive, it does not suggest why a merger with Rambus would be very beneficial.
Was it because Rambus made an offer that Bell ID couldn’t refuse (over paid) or was it because both Rambus and Bell ID had concluded a collaboration between CryptoManager and their payment software will open the door to significant business opportunities?
In the last earnings call, Dr Black made this comment during Q&A.
And quite candidly, we’re already working on joint things between, for instance, CryptoManager and payment platforms with real subsidence customers.
In my opinion, it is still very unclear to the market, shareholders, and wall street analysts what type of payment solutions will emerge that combine both CryptoManager hardware and Bell ID software. My guess is, Vidity movie purchases may be one example, but that is only a guess on my part.
Perhaps Rambus and Bell ID should consider producing another video that helps explain how CryptoManger hardware in combination with Bell ID software fits into the larger picture.
At this point, the market does not appear to be very excited about this merger. |
