Intel has joined Vidity?I noticed that a few recent articles have started listing Intel has having joined SCSA/Vidity. For example;
SCSA was founded by 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros Home Entertainment, SanDisk and Western Digital. It now has more than 50 industry-leading companies as contributors, including Samsung, Qualcomm Technologies, LG, Xiaomi, Comcast, Intel, Sky UK, Cisco, Sprint, Broadcom, ARM, Seagate, Akamai, DTS, Dolby and Walmart. http://variety.com/2015/digital/news/vidity-4k-ultra-hd-specs-released-1201578440/ http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/vidity-a-potential-uhd-4ktv-game-changer-will-apple-play
In my opinion that would be very significant news (if true) given Intel’s obvious connection to the PC device market.
However, I think it is also worth noting that the Vidity website does not show Intel has having joined SCSA/Vidity yet. https://www.vidity.com/about-us/
In addition, the last press release SCSA put out in regards to membership does not list Intel.
While I fully expect Intel will join SCSA, including many other companies, I have to wonder what the original source was for this information? |
