Stkhawk: not "yet good enough" simply means more has to be done, or researched---perhaps needing new "IP" (specifically mentioned in the press release); if you disagree with my phrase, change it to "(not) yet ripe enough". Neither implies that there is current "deficiency in performance". Higher performance can and will always be demanded, and "developed and delivered". There will be new engineering problems to be solved (by Rambus) to reach the expectation or application requirements of IBM. In my speculation on IBM's view, Rambus is in a position to achieve those new plateaux, better and faster than IBM itself.
