LPDDR4 is being designed into SmartPhones. For example, QualComm’s Snapdragon 810. What’s interesting is they use the device at 1600 Mhz data rate. It is significantly lower powered then a potential R+LPDDR3 - 1600 Mhz. For example half the core frequency. (100MHz vs. 200MHz). It will have high yield at that core frequency. And it uses LVSTL for DQ.
If someone were to start developing an R+LPDDR3 DRAM today, when do you think it would enter production? And which DRAM supplier would create one?
