Interesting you bring this up. The IV traffic data gathered by those who did the gathering (and no, Evren was not among them), at times was highly suggestive of Gary Weiss posting as ScipioAfricanus. But at other times it was clearly someone other than Gary. I came to the conclusion that Scipio was actually just a name shared by two people, Gary and someone else.

I also think that this someone else has played a decreasing role since the Amazon.com review revelations back in November. Prior that that, Scipio was wrong but principled. Now he's mostly numb but frantic.

Here's one hyper-recent tell-tale sign:

Gary Weiss is the only human with any knowledge of Latin to use the term "ad hominem" as a noun (when it's actually a modifier, usually of the noun "attack") and then compound the error by pluralizing it as though it were an English term. Thus, instead of the proper "ad hominem attacks," Gary tends to say "ad hominems." Mantanmoreland does it, as does Gary (most recently yesterday) as does Scipio (most recently today).
