Re: This will take about an hour or more part 1 in orderAbout that, yeah. The first article is something I've spent an inordinate amount of time wondering about, and in a some ways his theory fits. It's kind of a moot point in the end though, because, as a teacher of mine was fond of pointing out "The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land". Accepting it or not, you don't really have a choice. You can only change the constitution by amendment, and the fatal flaw faced by people who aren't happy about it is that they really don't have the votes to do anything about it. That's why the courts are so important for them to get control over. You get some judicial activists in there who want to interpret existing laws any way they feel like, and they have some (temporary) control. That's why it's a battle to the death over who gets to serve on the Supreme Court, but of course you know that. Here's a quote from that caller who called into the Rush Limbaugh show: CALLER: Yeah. But I’ll tell you, you know, two things that I heard on your show really reshaped my analysis of liberalism. One of them, when you said it was actually the news media that was controlling things and the party was just an arm, but also that piece by David Greenfield. IT really kind of like shook up my thinking as to how diabolical the liberal movement is. You've probably heard the term "confirmation bias" before. A lot of people have been using that terminology lately, and it basically means that you'll find meaning in things that you want to believe in, because they fit more naturally into your personal philosophy. I find myself wondering how people could adopt some of the viewpoints they have, and amazed that they can't see how contrary they are to... well, let's call it "The American Way", or the system the founding fathers envisioned when they wrote the constitution. Where did they pick up that particular 'confirmation bias' point of view. My opinion is that obviously someone told them a whole pack of lies somewhere along the line, and they were just what they were waiting to hear. Diabolical indeed. |
