I was one of the few who was pretty sure R-IT had zero chance of getting stopped at 60% look - funny how those who were handicapping the odds of a stop (50%-75%) suddenly claim they aren't surprised DMC rec'd continuation, ain't it? I think what was a surprise is what you mentioned - that a trial can meet a pre-specified interim halt number and decide to continue anyway - even though you've said before that they have broad leeway to use their own opinions to make the decision, I don't think AMRN investors had seen evidence that it had actually occurred before - thanks for bringing that up. Even more surprising was learning that in JUPITER the DMC scheduled a 2nd interim look on their own - had no idea that was even allowed - perhaps because the boundary had already been crossed? Just wondering how that unscheduled 2nd interim look worked IRL, since the sponsor and CRO would have had to be involved as well - makes it appear that DMC took charge of running the trial instead of the sponsor to me.
