Re: "Never hire a scientist to run a company." "Hire a businessman - someone in finance."
andy, mark the calendar... I totally agree !
on balance, I think that EL is an excellent CEO... but he totally lacks a sense of urgency to deliver... Shire and BIIB are great partners... and he brought both of them to the party... kudos to him... but since then, the only "scalded dog" has been our pps and not our pre-clinical/clinical progress... every developmental biotech's CEO is the company's most ardent mega-bull... and I'm sure that EL rationalizes every mis-step/delay as reasonable/understandable/prudent... sorry but those excuses are unacceptable and the clock keeps ticking faster every day... it's all about execution and EL's has been very weak.
SGMO needs a sense of urgency mentality and their strategic vision of a fully integrated biotech is a roadmap to disaster... partner, partner, partner (or sell, sell, sell) is a much more viable strategy.
and sorry for adding this... but his continued and excessive selling of shares is totally disingenuous.
