In essence, what "investors" are asking for when they want companies to do buy backs, is for those companies to do their investing work for them. It they want some company to do their buying and selling for them, they should invest in FUNDS, not in individual companies. Biotechnology companies are in the business of developing biotech products, not to act as fund managers.
There are many funds that specialize in biotechs. Those wanting buybacks should just invest in the appropriated fund. (If you want something to keep your grass short, get a sheep or a cow, not a mountain lion.)
SGMO is doing one of the best jobs ever seen in biotechnology ever seen in "getting the most band for the buck" from research dollars. (anyone who doesn't believe that should do searches for "Sangamo" at the USPTO.gov and esp@ce.net for patents and applications) Anyone who thinks that, despite all evidence to the contrary, SGMO i s not getting sufficient returns from money spent on research, should just invest in a different company.
PS: If you find one that's doing better, PLEASE send me a PM!
