Re: Red Hat and Microsoft are now partners...
Actually the partnership that I'm wondering about is between Microsoft and Raspberry Pi. The much more powerful Pi 2 has been released very shortly after the Pi B+, and as of a couple of months ago, MSFT has announced a Windows 10 IoT developer kit for the Pi 2. I'm guessing that the reason for the rapid upgrade cycle is that Windows !0, unlike Linux, simply wouldn't run on the B+ and MSFT footed the bill for developing a new version that would. Of course this is all speculation. Not that I'm complaining as the Pi2 should make a perfectly adequate desktop computer running Linux, so much so that I can't see anybody paying for a 'thin client' when you could get a Pi 2, case, keyboard, mouse, and LED backlit display for around $150.
