$50M in legal fees is chump change.
I understand that. I'm just [a little too] happy to see that what they are buying isn't covering their costs.
Google's legal fees aren't likely to be a whole lot less than Oracle's and while, IMO, they shouldn't have to defend what they did they too can afford it. Maybe better than Oracle can.
The article that the techdirt article is based on, by Kathy King over at ZDNet, has more details and touches on the patent points a bit as well, pointing out that Oracle's witness testified that he and Andy Rubin never discussed the patents at issue.
