The information from the Alta report are no their own; the information is pulled from the GeoScout oil industry database. GeoScout is a database where O&G companies publish information on their drilling and completion techniques; it is an industry initiative designed to better sharing of information and to encourage best practices. Operators however have the option to block the data for up to one year (for competitive reasons); this is why the Ansell information just came public.

Another known industry source is the Well Completions & Frac Database (WCFD); access for these databases is very expensive; the price for a one year membership at WCFD is $11000 a year.
