Re: Next Oil Boom?-It's time to stop the boom-bust syndrome.
Many of the countries that export goods into the US have set-up huge barriers to the US exporting to their markets. They take the form of tariffs, import duties, denial of entry due to the product being "not acceptable for their market-make-up your own reason here", or currency manipulation.
It is kind of amazing that we allow this and send upwards of $ 1 trillion to pay for our military and other defense related agencies such as the NSA, CIA or a blizzard of other alphabet outfits which protect our "trading partners" from russia, china, iran, north korea or other groups or countries bent on the West's destruction.
What I think we should do is, since we are essentially energy independent, if we ramp up the shale oil another 5 MM bbls.(EOG's Papa said 11MM was doable/HH of CLR said 20MM), keep coal and NG increasing their penetration into power generation and for transportation, allow enough wind and solar to keep the greenies happy, put on some sort of minimum price the energy will generate if it is produced in the US. I don't know what the magic number is. It could be $70/bbl for oil and $4/mcf. for NG.
It seems to be totally idiotic to keep having these booms and busts and we still have these huge imports which siphon off hundreds of billions to countries, that in many cases want us gone.
