Boutarfa: Algiers meeting, 'opportunity to stabilize oil market'Thanx to Hitman1 on the iii uk board Boutarfa: Algiers meeting, 'opportunity to stabilize oil market' Sept. 10, 2016 The unofficial meeting of member countries of the Organization of Oil Exporting Countries (OPEC), scheduled on 27 September in Algiers, "will be an opportunity to reach an agreement that helps stabilize the oil market," Energy Minister Noureddine Bouterfa told APS Friday in Moscow. "In this regard, Algeria will submit a proposal to participants in the Algiers meeting. Consultations with our partners show a consensus on the need to stabilize the market. This a positive sign," Boutarfa said, adding that the Algiers meeting "would lead to a consensus" between actors involved in this issue. Boutarfa will meet his Saudi counterpart Khalid al-Falih Friday in Paris. As for the current volatility of the prices of oil, Boutarfa stated that "USD 50/barrel is not acceptable, neither favourable for producing countries nor for the world economy. An acceptable price would vary between USD 50 and USD 60." |
