SIR COOP

The following message was updated on 3/22/2012 12:40:38 PM.

Sell in May and Go Away?

Looks like the usual seasonal crap is showing up folks.  Sell in May and go away now means sell in March and stay out of markets.

My historical analysis since the crash shows I made money from Oct to Feb, and picked up a bump in July.  The other six months, March, April, May, June, August, sept and October have been dudes.

My new approach is to stay in risky assets Oct through Feb and move to divvy stocks for the rest. So far so good.
Currently hiding in AVF.TO (9.6%) and NAE.TO (7%).  AVF is a play on the Alberta economy and very much worth looking at, only 43M shares.  I also own some INA.V as I wanted in for the PP at .50c, but I don't own a lot.

My guess is I will protect our nice gains from the past 6 months and then roll into risky plays in the coming Oct lows this fall.  Plus I worry a lot less and will enjoy my summer not glued to the computer screen.
