Evaluating/Monitoring New Co Upside - Ann Mason Project - LordsburgLooks like Freeport Is going to test the higher grades up at the MacArthur deposit specifically In the Gallagher area/zone which runs onto/Into Entree's Blackjack property. Quaterra's SP Is juuuuuuuuust starting to creep back up. Quaterra NR 2017 01 19 Freeport-McMoRan Nevada LLC has agreed to make accelerated option payments of up to $1.5-million. SPS has determined that these will be used to finance the 2017 drill program. All amounts are expressed in U.S. dollars. Freeport Nevada is a wholly owned subsidiary of Freeport Minerals Corp., which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan Inc. Quaterra president and chief operating officer Gerald Prosalendis said: "This year's drill program is focused on locating and drilling both potential open-pittable and higher-grade porphyry and skarn mineralization in a number of prospective areas that we have identified across our district-scale property. "Work will begin in the first quarter of the year and will include both reverse circulation and core drilling of a minimum of 15 holes in and around the Yerington pit, at the MacArthur deposit five miles north of the Yerington pit, and on other prospective targets identified on the company's large land position. "For example, MacArthur contains significant sulphide mineralization beneath the oxide zone as discovered by a relatively few previously drilled holes that continued beyond the base of the oxide. We want to better understand the porphyry system that underlies the oxide cap." Quaterra NR 2008 05 14
Porphyry copper-type mineralization has been discovered below a large area of iron oxides and phyllic alteration 3,000 feet west of the MacArthur pit. Drill hole QM-10 sited in the Gallagher prospect area intersected 60 feet of 0.73% copper including 15 feet of 2.46% copper at a depth of 470 feet. A second mineralized zone at 575 feet assayed 0.40% copper over 50 feet, including 20 feet of 0.79% copper. The mineralization in both intercepts occurs as disseminations and veins of chalcopyrite in quartz monzonite. The copper zone includes scattered anomalous gold values up to 370 ppb. The intercepts may represent “fringe” mineralization related to a porphyry copper system that could be the source of the secondary copper in the MacArthur pit.
Entree Gold NR Nov 2010 Five of the Blackjack holes were sited on the possible westward extension of the Blue Hills zone of mineralization; the upper portions of all five holes were strongly oxidized and iron-rich, with occasional oxide copper minerals noted. The most significant copper occured as sulphide mineralization in drill hole EG-B-10-004 (Table 2), located more than 900 m northwest of the oxide and sulphide copper mineralization at Blue Hills. Two of the Blackjack holes were sited on the possible westward extension of the MacArthur and Gallagher zones of mineralization currently being explored by Quaterra Resources Inc. (TSX.V – QTA; NYSE AMEX:QMM – “Quaterra”). The Gallagher area is located immediately east of the property boundary, and Quaterra recently announced the intersection of porphyry-style copper mineralization grading 0.74% Cu over 76 feet in hole QM-46 from this newly-discovered zone. Narrow intervals of copper mineralization were identified in Honey Badger’s EG-B-10-001 drill hole, located at the northeast corner of the Blackjack property. Mineralization occured as coarse chalcopyrite in silicified breccias. Hole EG-B-10-001 also confirmed the presence of sulphide (predominately pyrite) mineralization in granodiorite intruded by quartz monzonite porphyry dykes at the eastern limit of a 5 km-long, east-west trending IP anomaly located north of Blue Hills. |
