Re: TD customer privacy issue Not sure what it is you are referring to? Webroker and Easy web are on site activities and you don't do any browsing from them. I am sure the wording is to cover them because when you use a TD visa or debit card on the web they grab the info on what site you are on and they know what you purchased. Now if TD Visa is actually putting a cookie on your brower to report back to where you have been browsing that would be a problem. Nothing I have read would indicate that they are doing that I have never received any direct advertising from any credit cards companies that I use. If this is worrisome then you don't want to think about the info sites like google Bing and other search engines and shopping places grab. There are things you can do if concerned such as setting your browser to not allow any cookies that you don't approve of. My browser of choice is Firefox and this is how to take control if concerned in FF. Go to Menu/options/privacy. Here you can click and check "Tell sites that I do not want to be tracked" and uncheck "Accept cookies from sites" I don't have the same concerns as others about being tracked so I do accept cookies. Be aware if you disable cookies a lot of sites you use including IV will not load the way you want. |
