Both Win XP and Win 7 save data files to: C:\Documents and Settings/"your name"/My Documents/Turbotax/.
To move to a new computer simply copy (to a thumb drive or CD) and then install the old file into the new computer. You will then be able to reinstall and use old yrs as well as import the data for next yr. If you save data files independtly of a complete disk image be sure to include these files for safe keeping. My records go back 7 yrs.
This works for me for individual, trust and partnership tax returns.
