Re: CNE....from Colombia* I placed my investment dollars on CNE for the following reasons: 1) Independent third party reserve evaluation of their gas reserves. 2) Verifies and contractually sound 5 year set sales gas delivery agreement(s). 3) A pipeline and pipeline infrastructure that is within a close completion date. 4) A large, minority share-holder, who holds two board seats and who has a history of wealth creation as one of Venezuela's richest men. 5) A niche market with declining production (Caribbean Coast Colombia) and rising supply needs. 6) A large nat gas block (600k+ acres) that has large upside potential and early but very positive drilling results to date. So in reality, for me, investing in CNE has little to do with a belief in the CEO or based on execution but rather more to do with patience and timing. Take RMP. RMP, imo, has world class management but a very stressed asset whereas CNE has a CEO that is anything but world class and a producing asset (nat gas) that looks more like a utility and thus causes me very little stress. Perhaps this is why it is the Top Pick for all international oil / gas cos for TD Bank. The next two weeks will tell whether or not I was a trusting dolt or a more well off energy investor.
