lithium specsFor the few on this board who need their lithium fix, I know there are two of us - LOL, this is a repost from the Blue Chip board. There are a few other lithium related posts there. Nemaska Lithium has to get through four critical stages: 1. Get their pilot carbonate plant up and running at planned capacity and sign more offtake agreements for product 2. Raise $550 million for their commercial mine and mill 3. Get the commercial mine/mill operating at capacity. This is not a conventional milling operation, more a chemical processing plant converting Li Al silicate to lithium carbonate, without impurities. After spending some $400 million RB Lithium went bankrupt at this stage because of mill process bugs and cost overruns. 4. Get their lithium carbonate to lithium hydroxide plant up and running at capacity using a proprietary process that has never been run at scale. The Nemaska warrants are a highly leveraged call on Nemaska's ability to navigate these stages with the added risk, though this is low I think, that the bloom will go off the lithium market speculation. As a canny old Irish mining promoter I once worked with used to often remind me - 'there ae many slips twixt the cup and the lip'. |
